Sometimes it is hard to resist those sweet puppy eyes at the dinner table but if it is endangering our pup we need to stop feeding them table scraps. Here is a list of some things that are no-no’s to our pups.
- Alcohol
- Chocolate, Coffee, and anything with Caffeine
- Citrus
- Grapes and Raisins
- Onions, Garlic, and Chives
- Raw/Uncooked Meat, Eggs, and Bones
- Salt and Salty Snacks
Some of them probably seem obvious like Alcohol, who would be stupid enough to give their dog alcohol, but you know there are some people that aren’t the smartest and there are some food products that have alcohol in them as well. A lot of the foods above will cause your dog to have tummy aches, diarrhea, vomiting, and some problems as serious as excessive thirst and urination, hyperactivity, abnormal heart rhythm, tremors, seizures and even death. Chocolate is one of those items in the list that will cause death. So watch your kids and make sure they aren’t giving Spot their leftovers.
Just be cautious of your dog’s behaviors because sometimes you can’t always watch your dog every second and some people will drop crumbs and not pick it up or something and that can cause an issue.
I am guilty of giving my dog french fries here and there and giving them human snacks but that needs to stop. They make dog treats for a reason because they are made specifically for dogs!
