The Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on rescuing and rehabilitating severely abused animals. Animal Hope and Wellness specialize in abuse and neglect cases – they rescue them, provide full rehabilitation services, and then work to find them perfect homes.
My friend Becky sent me pictures from The Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation Instagram and my heart melted when I was scrolling through the videos and photos. I could not believe my eyes with some of the photos. The things Marc does to save these animals is amazing. He goes to slaughter houses all over Asia and risks his life for these dogs.
In this photo Marc traveled to Mekong and saved 27 dogs that morning 28 dogs in Cambodia and 24 dogs in Vietnam. They cram dogs into cages, tie them up, and abuse these dogs. Marc said that he almost died three times, was beaten, shot at, held at machete blade and he keeps going to try to save these dogs to give them a beautiful loving home. If I actually saw this with my own eye my heart would be broken and I wouldn’t know what to do with myself. My dog means the world to me and now I understand the meaning of a dog being your best friend because they are always there for you no matter what. There is obviously cultural differences where they don’t look at dogs as a pet or companion and have no heart when they are doing something like what they are doing.
The story of Gumby KIILLLLED me! When I saw this dogs face I wanted to find a way to adopt him. Marc saved him and said he was hit in the face by something or kicked, with sheer force his jaw is broken and missing teeth on one side of the mouth. He cannot see and his eyes, one of them appears to be smashed into the socket. He walks differently and Xrays show he has sustained a front leg injury and broken ribs. Gumby’s toes are cracked and fractured, and so is his left foot. It really sucks how helpless some dogs are and all they want is love and a nice butt scratch. They are the least selfish creatures on the planet. No dog deserves any bad treatment especially what Marc is witnessing.
Looking through Animal Hope and Wellness just puts in perspective how rough some dogs have it just because they are dogs.
