18 months ago, Mandy Smith’s 5-month old puppy, Pooka, disappeared from her family’s yard in Fort Campbell, KY. When Smith received a call saying Pooka was found in northern New Mexico, she thought someone was playing a trick on her.. but it wasn’t a trick. On January 12, the now 2-year old Chihuahua-dachscund (“chiweenie”) was found walking the streets in Espanola. Pooka was traced back to her military family by a chip that was said to have been installed in the dog days before she went missing. Pooka and Smith were reunited at Albuquerque’s Sunport on Wednesday. Shelter workers have no idea how Pooka ended up in New Mexico. Pooka recently gave birth to puppies and was still nursing when she was found but the puppies are nowhere to be found. Pooka was just about to find out that her original household had grown too. Since her disappearance, Smith brought home 2 new German Shepard, and gave birth to her 4th child!
How the hell did Pooka end up in New Mexico?! o_o That’s like more than 1,000 miles away from Kentucky. That’s really weird..
